Bypass Registry Access Policy Restriction | blog-windows Blog

Today I came across the situation where I require to take the access of registry.
When I opened it give me error
"Registry Editing has been disabled by administrator".
Don`t worry we have a small trick to bypass the restriction.
Follow below steps:
1. First download Sysinternals Utility Kit. Download
2. we focus on PSExec.exe utility.
3. Go to the folder where psexec.exe Located. Open the command prompt & run the command as shown below,
Eureka!!!!!! You have opened registry.

Psexec.exe -u "username" -p "Password" regedit.exeNote:username should have admin rights.
Eureka!!!!!! You have opened registry.
Note:
- Most of the Viruses disable the Registry access so user & admin is not able to perform the registry level changes.
- In corporate environment it is the policy where registry access is disabled you may user the same technique as explained above to bypass the restriction but do it at your own risk. it looks to be a Corporate Policy Violation.
